Tuition & Fees
Current Students
Tution and Fee information for current students can be found in the "Financial Matters" section of our current student website.
Withdrawal Refund Policy
Students who officially withdraw within a refund period receive a pro-rata refund based on the date that appears on the Withdrawal Form (see below). Assessed Tuition, the Service Fee, the General Fee, and the Transportation Fee are refunded on a pro-rata basis less 5 percent (5%) of the assessed amount or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is less. Health Insurance and Health Service fees are not refundable.*
Pro-Rata Refund Schedules
The refund schedules are located on our Current Student Web site:
Students who were assessed Health Insurance and Health Service fees will continue to be covered and eligible to receive Health Services until the first day of instruction of next term.
Questions regarding this policy should be referred to the Service Representative at the Records Service Center (Room 140), Admissions and Records Building, 901 West Illinois Street, Urbana, IL 61801.
Withdrawal Form
After the day before the first day of classes, a student may not use UI-Integrate Self-Service to cancel or withdraw from enrollment for the term. This action must be accomplished by use of the Withdrawal Form (PDF).
The college office or graduate department has been designated as the official office for withdrawals. When a student notifies the official office of his/her intent to withdraw from the University, the date of that notification will be the date designated as the withdrawal date. The University has a pro-rata refund policy, so withdrawals should not be backdated.
A cancellation of registration may only be permitted if the student has not attended class nor used any University services during the term. For this reason, a cancellation is only valid if dated the day before the first day of instruction for that term.
Graduate students
should request a completed Withdrawal Form from their department offices. The graduate department's authorized signature should be on the Department Office line of the form. Foreign students are required to secure the signature from International Student and Scholar Services. In addition, graduate students must obtain the signature of a Graduate College dean before bringing the completed form to the Records Service Center, (Room 140), Admissions and Records Building, 901 West Illinois Street, Urbana, IL 61801.
Undergraduate students
should request a completed Withdrawal Form from their college offices. The form should be signed by a dean of the college. Undergraduate students should take the signed form to the Dean of Students Office for approval. After the Dean of Students has signed the form international students will need to secure the signature from the Office of International Student Affairs. All students should bring the completed form to the Records Service Center (Room 140, Admissions and Records Building).
Information regarding cancellation of registration and withdrawal from the University is available in Article 3, Part 3 and Part 5, of the Student Code.
