Grade Entry FAQ

  1. Since faculty will need to be listed as the instructor for the course in Web For Faculty in order for them to be able to view their course rosters and submit final grades, what is the process for having instructors added to the system and as the instructor? Who is responsible for handling this?
    • Administrative staff that handles the Class Schedule (Timetable) or the staff in the individual departments will handle this responsibility.
  2. What happens if a change in instructor is made for a course, do I (as a faculty) need to do anything to ensure that the change is made?
    • No.
  3. How are teaching and graduate assistants added to the system?
    • Administrative staff that handles the Class Schedule (Timetable) or the staff in the individual departments will handle this.
  4. How will faculty learn how to retrieve course rosters?
  5. Will college support staff be allowed to submit grades for faculty?
    • Course instructors and Teaching Assistants assigned to courses should enter the grades in Banner Web For Faculty.
  6. If there is more than one faculty member associated with the course, how is access set up for grade entry?
    • Multiple instructors can be associated with a section and can enter grades. They are listed as primary or secondary.
  7. Can I upload grades from Excel to Banner?
    • No.
  8. Will faculty need to enter grades in WebCT and in Banner?
    • Final grades will need to be entered in Banner Web for Faculty.
  9. Will WebCT be synchronized with Banner?
    • Not at this time.
  10. Will I be able to retrieve grades from WebCT?
    • No.
  11. How will I know if the grades that I submitted are the actual grades that the student received?
    • Faculty will receive a final graded roster in the middle of the following term, which lists the grades that were submitted.
  12. How can I change a grade? When are grades rolled?
    • Grade changes may be made until grades are rolled.

    • The Office of Admissions and Records provides additional information about using Web for Faculty.
