Research Apprenticeship Program I (RAP I) - Career Exploration

WHAT: Academic and career awareness activities related to each session's topic with on-site visits, seminars, and special learning activities
WHO: High school freshmen and sophomores of under-served and economically disadvantaged groups
WHEN: Program I-A Business, Science and Technology Component June 15 - July 3
Program I-B Business, Science and Biotechnology Component July 6 - July 26
Program I-C Children, Families and Educational Component June 17– June 30

Research Apprenticeship Program II (RAP II)

WHAT: Program for students to explore careers in food, agricultural, and environmental sciences; students work in laboratories to conduct projects to build on their interests in math, science, engineering, and business.
WHO: Previous RAP I students and other high school juniors of under-served and economically disadvantaged groups
WHEN: June 15 - August 3

Young Scholars Program (YSP)

WHAT: Students are enrolled in transferable college level courses at their local community college, participate in skill-development exercises, and receive specialized counseling throughout the first year of college
WHO: Graduating high school seniors who are incoming freshmen pursuing a College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences undergraduate program of study of traditionally under-served groups in the math and science fields
WHEN: Summer and freshman year

Digital Kicks

WHAT: University of Illinois Extension 4-H, Champaign County Unit program that teaches participants about computer programming and new technologies using a sports theme
WHO: Students entering 7th and 8th grades
WHEN: June 25-30
