AHS Freshman Scholars

All freshman scholarships are awarded after careful review and evaluation of the admissions application. All students who are admitted to the College of Applied Health Sciences are evaluated for scholarships.

Requirements: Each winter the College of Applied Health Sciences offers top admits in Kinesiology, Community Health, Recreation, Sport and Tourism, and Speech and Hearing Science an AHS Freshman Scholars Award. This merit award is based on an outstanding record of academic accomplishment as a high school student.

Requirements: Selection is based upon the student’s ACT/SAT score and high school GPA/rank

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

During the spring semester of freshman year, all AHS students are encouraged to apply for departmentally awarded scholarships. Awards range from $250 to $1,500 recurring for AHS freshmen. Applications are available from the departmental academic advisors in the spring semester. Students are also encouraged to apply for the AHS Career Development and Leadership Awards that are designed to assist students with study abroad costs, conference travel, and membership in professional organizations and leadership programs on campus. More than 20 Career Development and Leadership Awards are granted each year.
