What is a little-known fact about Illinois?
Coming from a semi-small town in Michigan to a large school was a huge shock. But when attending classes and lunch at the dorms, I interacted with people and the more friends that I made, the smaller the campus got.

Why do you belong at Illinois?
Being an athlete, I respect the honor and tradition of U of I and whether I’m with the team or not, I am on my best behavior in order to show others what it is to be a student athlete at Illinois. I feel like I'm a part of Illinois because I came from out of state and the campus community took me in as one of its own, which was comforting. This University's honorable reputation and prestige coupled with all my hard work has given my mother the chance to proudly say, "My son goes to the University of Illinois." That’s what keeps me going.
