What do you like most about your major?
Special Education allows me to combine psychology and teaching as it relates to students with learning disabilities. My professors are great. They constantly challenge me to think of new ways to reach students. I also love the people I get to see every day.
What are your favorite courses within your major?
I loved my SPED 470: Behavior Management class. The concepts from this class made me feel like a real teacher for the first time. It was really cool to take the things that I learned in that class and apply them during the time I spend working with the students.

Describe your most memorable experience at Illinois.
It is the first time I played with the Marching Illini at a football game. It was incredible. There is nothing like marching onto Memorial Field and experiencing the cheering of the crowd.
What’s a little-known fact about campus?
Even though Illinois is a large school, it doesn't seem like it. There are so many activities you can participate in - sports, shows, events, and more. Through involvement in organizations, you quickly make friends and suddenly it seems like a much smaller place.
Why do you belong at Illinois?
For years it’s been a dream of mine to attend the U of I. I can't picture myself anywhere else. My program is great and I love the people I get to see and work with every day. Illinois has a wonderful campus; there is always something to do and people to meet. You can never get bored here.
