Where is your favorite spot on campus to study?
I really enjoy studying at Espresso Royale, a local coffeeshop.
Where is your favorite spot on campus to hang out with your friends?
My favorite spot to hang out with my friends would be on the main quad, in front of the union. We call it Quad 101.
Where is your favorite spot on campus to relax?
My favorite spot to relax on campus would definitely be La Casa Cultural Latina, the Latino cultural house. It is like a second home for me and it's right on campus.
What is your favorite club or organization on campus that you are involved with?
I really enjoy my dance group, Dance 2XS Caliente, which is a Latin and Hip-Hop dance group. We practice quite a bit and perform around campus, but we always have fun!
What do you like most about your majors?
What I like most about my major is the amazing faculty and professors that I have the opportunity to work with everyday. The faculty in my department have been very supportive and excellent mentors, affirming my desire to continue with graduate studies in my field.
What are your favorite courses within your majors?
One of my favorite courses was Speech and Hearing Science 222: The Language and Culture of Deaf Communities with Dr. Quinto-Pozos. I enjoy any course that incorporates a cultural aspect.
Describe your most memorable experience at Illinois.
My first day on campus was my most memorable experience at Illinois. I arrived with all of my possessions, unpacked them into my room, and set off to meet new people and explore the campus. It was a very exciting and liberating experience to officially leave home and start my life at the University of Illinois.
Why do you belong at Illinois?
The University of Illinois is an academically challenging environment, filled with warm and welcoming faculty, and has given me the resources and support to enhance my academic and social life around campus. I truly feel that I belong here.
