Describe your most memorable experience at Illinois.

I worked as a summer orientation student leader and I will hold that as one of my fondest Illinois memories. During this time I was not only learning about the University, but I was also learning to represent the University to admitted students and their families. This experience helped me learn what a great institution this is while allowing me to show that pride and enthusiasm for my university to new students. Overall, this experience not only created more pride in my university but helped me feel I was able to start to give back for everything the University has done for me.

Why do you belong at Illinois?

I feel I belong here since the environment is very friendly and personable. It is a great feeling that not only professors and teaching assistants know your name in the hallway but many deans are also able to talk with you on a first name basis. I think that really enhances the Illinois experience. I also enjoy the feeling of campus pride for all of the achievements of this great university, such as a good basketball team or  Noble Prize recipients.
